I’m a very simple lady when it comes to finding hotels: I want the cheapest rate possible. For my family reunion in Houston, I searched all the major travel engines; expedia, priceline, orbitz, travelocity and even hotel websites. Cheapo Air found me the best deal. Period.
The hotel list came up and I found a three star rated hotel for only $43 a night. I thought this was too good to be true since all the other three star hotels were pricing in the $250 and up range. I jumped on it and tried it out.
Turns out, the hotel was great. While the rest of my family paid $199/night, I only paid that much for the entire five-day trip. We stayed at the America’s Inn in Houston. It was surprisingly nice. Everything was super clean and the people who ran the hotel were great. It definitely wasn’t the Ritz, but it was everything we could possibly ask for (especially given the price).
The deal I got was amazing. In fact we are planning a trip to Venice in the Spring and I’m going to book both my hotel and flight at the same place. So excited!
Benefits: Cheapoair.com searches and returns results faster than most other sites and has much more flexibility in terms of meal and seating options than other sites. Also, I use tripmama.com and cheapoair.com almost always comes back with the cheapest flights. Customer Service is also extremely helpful.
Drawbacks: Flights tend to change with some frequency and they don’t cover smaller airlines and there’s a small booking fee.
Recommended? Definitely!

by mattof7 on 23 Jul 2008Don't use CheapoAir unless you don't mind being bilked out of money. I spent hours online trying to book a return flight from Cyprus to Montreal this summer. They kept comfirming, charging my credit card, then telling me that flight wasn't available, then confirming a new itineray, with a higher price, then charging my credit card again. This went on and on. In the end, I got the flights but they overcharged me by 118 dollars. I sent many e-mails, with my credit card bill showing the extra charges, to the regular e-mail address and to the special feedback e-mail address. They have not answered any of my requests for a refund. Besides that, on my return flight I found that the last leg of it was not completely booked properly and in London I was forced to pick up my luggage at one terminal and transport it to another terminal to check it onto the next part of the journey. All because cheapoair had screwed up the booking. I am reporting this company to the New York State Attorney General's office for fraud as well as the Better Business Bureau of New York. They should be run out of business. Olga Glykis

by Cait on 31 Aug 2008I would have to say that dealing with CheapoAir was the worse customer service I have ever had to deal with. On top of that, as the previous review said, my card was billed several times becuase of their own errors. I had booked a return flight for two from Winnipeg-Vancouver for a very low price, paid on my credit card and had it confirmed. The next day, the company called saying that flight was full and i'd have to pay more for a new flight. Let me tell you, that did not go over well with me, as this was their error. They made no apologies and I had no choice but to pay the fee. 3 times following that, the company called to change my flights. Finally we left for Vancouver, as we were headed on an Alaskan cruise. During the time we were in Alaska, away from any form of communication, CheapoAir again changed our flights. This was without us knowing, as they had no way to contact us and were leaving messages at our parents places and our cell phones. Finally we had to end up changing the flights, which cost us an extra $500. This was charged to our card, and we never received an invoice. I have called several times to request an invoice, as well as emailed all sorts of customer service emails for the company with no response and just rude service on the phone. I would never deal with this company again. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. Working with CheapoAir made my vacation frustrating with the continuous changes and poor customer service.

by newkobi on 16 Sep 2008I had a terrible experience with this web site. They changed my dates of travel and charged me to escape their system error. I called within 2 minutes of making the reservations (as soon as the email confirmation arrived), and they offered to book what I needed for $60/per person more than I could book it for elsewhere, or I could pay $125 to cancel plus $25/ticket. They make their money screwing up your travel plans then canceling for a $125 fee. Stay away from them.

by gioconda on 19 Nov 2008Absolutely the worst. I booked a first class flight, and was told the seat was confirmed. I got to the airport, first class was sold out, and I flew coach.
I called to arrange a refund with CheapO. I was on hold for one hour. The representative I got argued with me, and refused to understand why I had a problem. with paying $500 extra for something I did not get.
I will never use CheapO Air again.
BEWARE.

by rcustsupport on 17 Dec 2008For those complaints regarding CHEAPOAIR changing their flights, that is not accurate. The airlines undergo schedule changes constantly and are the ones responsible for making changes to itinearies. We are the ones who will notify you of the changes. If you are not a frequent traveler, you may not be aware of how the airlines operate.
We will assist you in anyway to realign your flight reservations, however, the airlines have the final say on what flights are to be confirmed. We do offer flight insurance for such occurances if flights are cancelled. This is very useful due to most airline tickets being non refundable.
